Shanghai
Most people usually play a standard game of darts where they try to score the maximum points in one round, and the one with the most points wins the round. Well, this classic dart game is called Shanghai. Any number of players, from 2 to 10, take turns throwing the dart at the dartboard.
Each player gets three turns, and the points are added at the end. The individual with the highest points is the winner. Shanghai is the perfect game for large parties, as this game can accommodate several people simultaneously.
Killer Darts
Another dartboard game that can be played by 20 or even more people in the same room is Killer Darts. Every player is assigned a random number at the start of killer darts. Then players take turns throwing darts at their assigned numbers until they make 6 successful attempts at landing the dart at their assigned number. This game can get political when you try to form alliances with other players, and of course, it’s loads of fun!
You can also take things up a notch and play an advanced version of Killer Darts called Blind Killer Darts. But players aren’t blindfolded; instead, they throw darts with their non-dominant hand.
Around the Clock
Many dart players have agreed that they enhanced their dart throwing and landing skills using this Around the Clock version of dartboard games. This game accommodates only two players. Each player has to throw a dart at every number between 1 and 20. The player who hits all these numbers first gets a chance to throw at the bullseye. If they hit the bullseye, they’re the ultimate Around the Clock winner.
Grand National
This dartboard game is named after one of the most famous horse races in the UK, so the game invites the maximum number of people possible to have a go at the dartboard. All the players get to throw three darts per round, and they have to hit numbers using anti-clockwise techniques. This will repeat until a player hits 20, and they’ll be crowned the winner. This dartboard game is ideal for large gatherings, children, or people who have just started playing darts.
Knockout
As the name suggests, the knockout is a game that eliminates players as a match continues. This dartboard game idea is fun and competitive. The unpredictability of this game means that everyone gets a fair chance at winning, which is the best way to turn a party around!
Every player has to throw three darts and try to get the maximum score. After every round, the scores of all players are calculated, and the one with the lowest gets kicked out of the game. This goes on until the game is between two players, where the one with the higher score wins. If you have a lot of players who have never heard of darts before at your party, play Knockout!
